Fence

On April 29, Grades 5 and 8 returned to the graveyard to continue the removal of debris. The debris ranges from sticks and leaves to big logs like this one.

The cows had been in the graveyard and sheared off this nice 19th century stone (above left) from its base. We knew that any more work that we did would be a waste of time unless we put up a fence that would keep the cows and calves in the surrounding pasture. The 8th grade students (above right) pounded in 30 fence posts on the two sides next to the pasture and strung a nylon rope. The cows are trained to avoid electric fencing. We hope this works.
