Gravestone Repair

Several markers have been broken over the years, not by vandalism but by cows rubbing against them. Repair has begun on these markers. This is headstone of Cynthea Teasley, 1832-1888.

This is the headstone of Martha McCortney, wife of Martin McCortney. It has been fractured into three parts. The bottom part of the stone remained in the base. The middle part was found under leaf debris. The third, top, section was found under about two inches of soil.

The three sections of the grave marker have been put back together. It will take quite a bit of work get the stone clean. The three sections have undergone different weathering rates. The sections are braced from the back.
