Gravestone rubbings, done with paper and crayon, can do damage to older, brittle stones. We do not recommend it for casual purposes. However, we need to record the information in the process of the restoration and make a rubbing only once. This marker is actually a double burial, Anne (age 2) and Robie (age 1), children of James and Isabell Ross. They died in 1878 and 1880 respectively.
